Utilizing the Ascent Rates of Weather Balloons to Estimate Optical Turbulence (C2n) Profiles

Abstract

We propose an approach to estimate a proxy for the outer length scale, and in turn C2n, by utilizing the ascent rates of radiosondes. For validation, we use observational data from the T-REX field campaign.
