Mangrove data of Advancing Resilience Measures for Vegetated Coastlines (ARM4VEG), Guyana

Dataset

Description

This collection contains data collected during mangrove-mudflat campaign in Guyana, during the PhD Thesis project of Uwe Best. It is being made public both to act as supplementary data for publications and the final PhD thesis document, as well as to allow for open usage by other researchers in their own work.

Eleven transects were established within the Chateau Margot mangrove fringe to capture the density, diameter (at heights: 0.1m , 0.5m, 1m, 1.3m, 1.5m, 2m]) and overall height of the trees. For the seedlings, a 1m x 1m quadrant was used at three random locations to count the number of seedlings and pneumatophores, and determine their height and diameter. Salinity and temperature readings were taken at three (3) randomly spaced points within the quadrant.
