Maryam is a PhD researcher in the Rivers and Ports Section of the Department of Hydraulic Engineering at the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Geosciences, TU Delft. Her research aims to advance zero-emission and resilient inland shipping. Through her PhD work, she integrates Operations Research, Optimization, Data Science, Machine Learning, and Simulation to improve the sustainability and reliability of logistical networks, particularly focusing on the bunkering infrastructure for inland vessels. Her research addresses critical global disruptions and environmental challenges affecting fuel supply chains within the inland shipping sector.
Maryam holds a Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering and Management Systems, specializing in Logistics and Supply Chain Management, from Amirkabir University of Technology. Her master’s thesis involved developing a data-driven mathematical model to optimize warehouse locations, employing advanced data science and machine learning techniques. With a solid background in supply chain management, she has applied simulation, data science, and machine learning to tackle complex logistical challenges.
